Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 12, 2026

Brain Groove is built to respect your privacy. We collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data, and we don't show you ads. This policy explains what we handle and why, in plain language.

The short version

Information we collect

Gameplay data on your device. Your scores, progress, settings, and which tutorials you've seen are stored locally on your device so the game works the way you left it.

Leaderboards (optional). If you choose to use leaderboards, your platform's game service — such as Apple Game Center on iOS — handles your nickname and high scores under that provider's own privacy policy. You can turn this off in your device settings at any time.

Free trial. If you start the free Pro trial, we send your platform game-service identifier (such as your Apple Game Center player ID) to our own server and store it alongside the date your trial began. We use this only to run your trial and to stop the same person from repeatedly restarting it — for example, after reinstalling the app. It is not linked to your name or email, is never shared or sold, and is never used for advertising.

Redeem codes and campaign answers. If you type a promo code into Settings, or answer a question on a campaign card in the app (for example, opting in to a contest), we send your game-service player ID, the code or answer, and the nickname your game service shows for you at that moment to our server. The player ID binds the code or answer to you so it can't be reused by someone else; the nickname is stored only as a readable label next to that record and is never used to look you up. Failed code attempts are logged against your player ID so that codes can't be guessed by brute force.

Campaign configuration. When the app checks which campaign cards to show, it sends our server your app version, platform, the campaign answers you've already given, and roughly how long ago you installed. No identifier is sent with this request.

Install attribution. We run ads for Brain Groove on other platforms, and we use Adjust, a mobile measurement service, to learn which campaign brought a new install. When you install and open the app, the Adjust SDK sends Adjust basic device information (device model, operating system version, language, time zone, app version and your IP address, used for coarse region) together with a per-app install identifier — on iOS Apple's identifier for vendors, on Android Google's App Set ID — and, on Android, the Play Store's install referrer. On iOS, Apple also sends Adjust a copy of its own privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork attribution postback. We have configured Adjust not to read your advertising identifier, we never show the App Tracking Transparency prompt, and we send Adjust no gameplay or purchase events — it learns that an install happened and which campaign it came from, nothing after. Adjust processes this data as our service provider.

Anonymous diagnostics. With your permission, your device's operating system may share crash reports and basic, aggregated usage statistics that help us fix bugs. These are not tied to your identity.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example, which games are opened and how often rounds are played — so we can improve it. This records app activity (such as screens viewed and rounds completed) together with a Google-generated app-instance identifier and general device and region information. We have turned off collection of your device's advertising identifier (Apple's IDFA and the Android Advertising ID), so this data is not used to build an advertising profile or track you across other apps. Google processes it as our service provider under Google's privacy policy.

What we do not collect

How we use information

We use the limited data above only to run the game, save your progress, power optional leaderboards, run the free trial, codes and campaigns and protect them from repeat abuse, understand aggregate usage, measure which of our own ads bring new players, and improve stability and difficulty tuning. We never use it to show you ads or to build a profile of you.

Service providers and retention

Our server and this website run on Cloudflare. Analytics is processed by Google, install measurement by Adjust; each acts on our instructions and under its own privacy policy. Server records for trials, codes and campaign answers are kept while the feature that uses them is live, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time using the contact below.

Our website

braingroove.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics. When you follow one of our short share links (for example, from a social profile) our redirector records the link used, the time, your device type, the country the request came from, the referring page, and your browser's user-agent string, so we can see which links people use. It does not store your IP address.

Children's privacy

Brain Groove is friendly for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we don't require accounts or collect personal details, the experience is the same for everyone.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll revise the date above and, for significant changes, note it in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
